TV-Lite

Up until now, only the Linux users could benefit from theming - since theming is available on Linux since the end of the 90's.
Now, as Windows tries to recover the longstanding gap, it has introduced a while ago, a "dark mode" which is kind of rigid - they only offer a "light" an a "dark" - maybe too dark, with a sharp contrast between the black background and the white font colour.

The good-old wxWidgets framework is still lacking the support in the stable version - that is why the current TV-Lite will keep its default, classic Windows appearance, even if the system is set to use the dark mode. But this is going to change in the next stable release of the wxWidgets library, and the dark mode is going to be supported.
The bad news is: we don't know when the next stable version will be released.
However, the dark mode support is available in the development releases of wxWidgets. So I decided to implement this functionality in the TV-Lite for Windows, too, even if this means delivering it with a development wxWidgets library.
Currently this new TV-Lite release will respect the system theme when launched. It the theme is switched while the app is running, TV-Lite will only partially comply with it. Some elements will change the colour, some will not. To fully respect the theming, it must be restarted.
Besides this change, the codebase includes now support for VLC 4, and some bugfixes. Most notably the bug that prevented restarting the same stream if some error occured. To restart, one had to, either press the stop button (even if the status bar showed "Stopped"), or to try and play another stream first.
The yt-dlp app was also updated to the current version. as well as some other libraries. wxWidgets version is 3.3.3 (development). 

The same version for Linux will be launched in a few days.
